Introduction to the Maryland teaching clinic
Since the clinic began in July 2002, it provided an opportunity for qualified practitioners to observe Niki H. Bilton working with patients. We termed this activity ‘shadowing’ as practitioners were expected to be as shadows in the treatment room, observing the interaction between master practitioner and patient. When invited, shadowers interacted with the patient and took their pulses, attending carefully to what was going on in the treatment, noting their questions and discussing these during subsequent tutorial sessions.
Niki is now focusing on the next step, namely helping qualified practitioners to:
(1) Hone their practice of Five Element acupuncture
Clinical supervision/observation
days
(2) Hone their diagnostic skills
Consult days
(3) Hone advanced treatment planning
Practitioner days
Venue: 218½
E Main Street, Suite 5, Westminster,
MD 21157 (hosted in Karen McCune’s practice).
